Flakstad and Ramberg, Norway

Seaside pleasures -- The Lofoten archipelago are famous for their rugged landscape and the Norwegian coastal lifestyle. That said, they do not lack the amenities more common to the island resorts south of the Arctic Circle, such as pristine sandy beaches and excellent seafood. Best of all, there are no crowds whatsoever, even in midsummer.

With a few coconut trees thrown in, the picture above may well evoke Hawaii, and why not: the warmth of the Gulf Stream in summer closely resembles that brought by the gentle trade winds of the South Pacific.

These photos are taken with the Nikon D100 digital SLR with the Nikon 20mm f/2.8 D lens.
