Isle of Skye, Scotland

The Cuillins at Camasunary, Isle of Skye -- Here I paused for a rest during a classic walk in the Cuillins, mountains whose exposed veins of magnetic iron ores are known to confuse the compasses of navigators. Should you leave the path, the ground becomes very soft and boggy, and would be impossible to walk on had it not been for the grass. The beach below is the marine access to the three-house hamlet of Camasunary, once the estate of Ian Anderson, the lead singer of the band Jethro Tull.

Photo is taken with the Nikon N90 and 35-70mm f/2.8 zoom lens. The original film was improperly exposed and developed; what became of this image was heavily edited in Photoshop.
