The mallee -- A mix of eucalyptus and gum trees makes up the mallee forest, found throughout the continent's rim. Nowhere on earth is the mallee denser or more expansive than here, preserved in the Flinders Chase National Park at the western extreme of Kangaroo Island. These photos are taken with the Canon G1 digital camera.
