Kjelvik, Norway

Bucolic fixtures -- Since the pioneer days two centuries ago to the present day, turf roofs are a common sight in rural Norway.  Not only do they provide efficient insulation, but during the long summers, wildflowers often sprout over them, adding cheerful hues of white, yellow and pink to the green tops.

The photo at Nordfjord was taken with the Kodak DC200 digital camera. Four years later, the Nikon D100 with a Nikon 20mm f/2.8 lens was used to take the photo at Kjelvik.
