Wairakei, New Zealand

Wairakei Terraces -- This Maori-owned complex is a garden of sorts, where geothermal pools and streams are carefully landscaped for the visitor's viewing pleasure. Some pools even allow for foot dipping.

Also in this complex are a Maori community lodge, a "model" Maori village, a menagerie with deer and emu, and a geothermal power plant.

These photos were taken with the Nikon D100 digital SLR and 20mm f/2.8 lens.
