The Kiwis' Playground -- The gale-force
winds have momentarily cleared the pretty lakeshore of the usual crowds.
When blue skies and sunshine return, the Wanaka-Queenstown axis will
revert to its usual holiday pandemonium, with hang gliders, rally drivers,
speed boaters, jet skiers, kayakers, mountain bikers, trekkers and weekend
picnickers everywhere.
